Today Sheree and I were crying at the kitchen table. Country music was blaring over the speakers and little Ruby was nudging her tennis ball under our feet. We were talking about how we wished the whole world would just love the little creatures.
Creatures entertain us. They keep us warm on a cold night. They greet us when we come home. They make us laugh. They make us cry. They are our friends when we are lonely. And what do they ask for in return?
One of my 55 ways to be satisfied in life is to take in a cat or dog. It can be a life-changing experience — to have a small creature love us and depend on us. I guarantee if you do this, you will soon fall in love with that little creature and you just might fall in love with all the little creatures in this world.
