KEEP YOUR HEAD

Keeping your head about you when everyone else is losing theirs and blaming it on you is what Kipling called being a grown up.

Craziness is contagious. It will suck you up and twist your thought. It will divert you. It will consume you, if you allow. Return to an equillibrium of thought and emotion. Stand still. Sit if you’re unsteady. Lay down if you must. Breathe your own oxygen, that of your world — avoid breathing from another’s. Drink from the rivers that flow through you. Then you will be sane. Then you will have enough to share with others.

No one can give you strength. No one can impart sanity to you. No one can make you happy. These things come from within.
