If unicorns existed, they would still capture our imagination because of their illusive and magical existence. They are beautiful, unique and few. I would suggest that each human being shares similar qualities. We are one-of-a-kind entities teaming with the most incredible potential. Each person has “the wrist,” as Helen Frankenthaler describes her uniqueness as an artist. Her wrist defined her and separated her from other artists. No other person has your signature. No one moves the way you do. No one thinks like you do. Your tastes and your view of the world are like no one. Your laugh, your smile, and your tears are rare and magical. And you are beautiful in your own way. Today, take five minutes to stand in front of a mirror if you have sight and look into your eyes. Look as though you are trying to see inside. Really look until you are no longer uncomfortable. Remind yourself, saying out loud and repeatedly, “You are beautiful, unique, and special in your own way.”
